Higher Farm - A countryside bed and breakfast with scenic views, convenient transport links, and locally sourced breakfast

Higher Farm offers a quiet countryside stay in South Cheshire, featuring stunning views of the Cheshire Plain and Welsh hills. The B&B includes five rooms-three double suites, one double room, and one single room-each with en-suite bathrooms, power showers, and free Wi-Fi. Breakfast is served in the dining room with large picture windows overlooking the valley, featuring locally sourced ingredients like free-range eggs and regional bacon. A bus service between Chester and Whitchurch stops nearby, running several times daily, while the Cock o' Barton pub is a few minutes' walk from Higher Farm. Business guests can use built-in workstations in select rooms.

Pros

The Orchard Suite includes a newly refurbished wet room suitable for reduced mobility.

Breakfast features locally sourced ingredients, including eggs from the property's free-range hens.

Free Wi-Fi is available throughout Higher Farm, with a workstation in The Roost for business guests.

A large parking area with smooth tarmac provides easy access for guests.

Cons

Access to first-floor rooms requires navigating a staircase with two flights of steps.

Mobile network coverage indoors varies by provider, with weak 3G/4G signals in some areas.

“This B&B distinguishes itself with its setting and attentive hosts, creating a 'home from home' atmosphere. The rooms are generously sized, and views across the Welsh hills enhance the experience, whilst breakfast is prepared with local ingredients, adding a personal touch. It's a place where the charm of the location is matched by the warmth of the welcome.”
